Energy Communities

Ενεργειακές Κοινότητες 100% Εικονικού Συμψηφισμού

100% Virtual Offset Energy Communities are a form of organization where businesses or residential consumers work together as members of a cooperative organization to produce solar energy.

The main feature is the offsetting of kilowatt hours consumed by members, with the aim of reducing their electricity bills by up to 100%.

Key features and benefits of this system include:

Lower Cost of Participation: The cost of participation is lower than what consumers would have incurred on electric bills over a four-year period.

Flexibility and Independence: No additional facilities are required at the member's premises, allowing consumers to move freely and change residence without restriction.

Risk Reduction: Participants are not responsible for wear or damage to the photovoltaic system, as maintenance and repairs are the responsibility of the organization.

Ability to Move and Change Address: Participants can move and change their residential address whenever they wish.

Choice of Electricity Supplier: Participants have the opportunity to choose the electricity supplier of their choice.

Overall, joining an Energy Community offers financial benefits and flexibility to consumers, while also helping to promote sustainable energy production and reduce environmental impact.

Below you will see a calculation about joining an Energy Community compared to the cost a consumer would have if they paid their electricity bills over the years. According to the calculation:

The cost of joining an Energy Community does not exceed your electricity bills for a four-year period.

An apartment or house with an annual consumption of 7000 KWh and a charge of 0.22 cents per kilowatt hour would pay €1540 per year, with a total cost over 4 years of €6160.

If this consumer had bought a share in an Energy Community, he would have spent a total of €5,500 on electricity consumption over 25 years.

Thus, the total benefit of participating in an Energy Community for 25 years would be €33,500.

Building an Energy Community

Our company has Citizen Energy Communities under construction that you can join by purchasing a participation share.

Business virtual energy netting, also known as Virtual Net Metering, is an initiative that allows businesses to combine energy consumption with production from renewable sources, such as photovoltaic systems, without the need to install photovoltaic systems on-site. Instead, the business is connected to a solar farm located in or near the county where the business is located.

According to Law 4513/2018, companies had the possibility to set up energy communities for the purpose of self-production of energy through photovoltaic systems of up to 3 MW of maximum power and to certify their consumption
έως και 100%.

Benefits of Energy Mobility

Companies participating in such an energy community have multiple benefits:

Reduction of operating expenses and increase of available funding.

Increase in profitability.
Ability to use modern devices and facilities with zero operating costs.
Upgrading the quality of the company's services.
Ανταγωνιστικά πλεονεκτήματα από τη μείωση του κόστους λειτουργίας.
Possibility of participation in investment subsidy programs.
Viewing the business as green energy.
Possibility of moving and changing business address.
You can resell your share before the end of the 25 years.

Finally, participating in an energy community does not burden businesses with additional installations, while they are not responsible for any damages to the photovoltaic system.

The payback time of an investment to participate in an energy community usually does not exceed 5 years, especially if there are upward trends in the price per kilowatt hour. Let's look at an illustrative example:

A business with a consumption of 100,000 KWh per year and a charge per KWh of 0.22 cents pays a total of €22,000 per year. Over a period of 25 years, the business will
has paid:

22.000€ * 25 years = 550.000€

Instead of paying this amount, if he buys a corresponding share of 100,000 KWh from
an energy community, the cost will be as follows:

BUSINESS CATEGORY ANNUAL CONSUMPTION IN KWh INSTALLED POWER IN KWp PARTICIPATION COST IN EUROS FEE FOR LICENSING AND APPROVAL STUDIES CONSTRUCTION COST PER KWp TOTAL COST SMALL BUSINESSES 100,000 €57 €2000 €40 00 € 1.000 € 57.142 If we calculate the cost of the kilowatt hour, we will have the following:

Kilowatt-hours Average Netting Price per KWh Total Annual Income Rent Maintenance Cost Security Total Expenses Annual Net Benefit Actual

Kilowatt hour cost:

100.000 € 0,22 € 22.000 € 190 € 1.142 € 76 € 1.409 € 20.590 € 0,014

In total, the business in 25 years will have a net benefit after depreciation of €458,000.
